Why "Cultivate"

A note from Nicole: Words matter to me  in a huge way. I am a girl seduced by language and poetry; the words of a good speaker, a meme, or author's perfect weaving of dialogue or descriptions can change my whole mindset.
The word "cultivate" is important and powerful for me.  It is the very most perfect word for how I  live my life and I chose it long ago to represent my work. "Cultivate" means to help grow, to develop. My life purpose, my dharma, is to help people grow and develop union within themselves, with their bodies, minds, and hearts.

We spend our lives  gathering and growing. We journey through different seasons and in varying conditions and environments.  The tools and the experiences I've gathered help me to constantly cultivate a life based in love and I share that love with my students and clients.

Cultivating more space inside of ourselves to hold love and light, and to feel our own personal expression of divinity, I believe, is the answer to shifting our world into a new level of  existence that is based in love and peace, It is how we begin to shift our current suffering and end separation.

I intend to use my life to cultivate the new Earth, doing what I can to grow myself and heal while helping others to also heal and awaken to their own truths.  Like a gardener cultivating a rich garden, I pay attention to the elements of my environment, notice the results of what I take in and put out, consider how my past informs my present. I show up over and over again for the parts that need help to grow, uprooting old belief systems and pulling the weeds of the ego.

I am in constant cultivating mode internally and I understand that this is a never ending journey.  I get to see the growth inside of me and the changes around me.  I feel the magic of the universe flowing through me as I grow and let go and witness the effects of change on the landscape of my life.  None of it is right or wrong, just lessons within the process of cultivating a life well lived.

What a process it is, this cultivating.  It takes time and patience and a mindset of self-love. Releasing ourselves from the desire for perfection and embracing the messier parts, is a process,  because even in the seemingly rotten parts, there is new life beginning.  The entire process of cultivating our lives is beauty-full.

My cultivating, my process of growth, has been a wild ride.  But through yoga, conversations, and healing, and by being in new spaces and experiences I have created new ways of relating to this wild and amazing life on our lovely planet Earth.
